Delete your account and data

How to close your account, what disappears, what remains and for how long.

Last updated October 12, 2026

You can leave HelloMe whenever you want, from the app, without asking anyone. This page describes exactly what deletion does.

1.Deleting your account from the app

  • Open HelloMe and go to Settings.
  • Open "My profile" and scroll down to "Delete my account".
  • Enter your password and write the word you are asked for: that is what shows the request is really yours, and not a slip.

Without the app, from any browser: hello-me.net/delete-account. To erase part of your data without closing the account: hello-me.net/delete-data.

Deletion is permanent. There is no bin: a closed account cannot be reopened, and the number will have to be registered again as a new account, without the earlier conversations.

2.What happens immediately

  • Your account is closed: your devices are signed out and nobody can write to you or call you on HelloMe any more.
  • Your profile no longer appears in search and your contacts no longer see you online.
  • Notifications stop, and scheduled messages that have not yet gone out are no longer sent.
  • You receive no further messages: anything sent to you after the closure is not kept for you.

3.What is erased next

Within thirty days at most after the closure, the data that identifies you is erased or made anonymous: name, photo, bio, username, email address, phone number, registered devices, notification tokens, along with the writing profile and the conversation memory used by the assistant.

That period exists for a reason: it lets us deal with a closure obtained by someone who had taken control of your account, and finish the technical operations under way, backups included.

If you want the erasure carried out without waiting for that period, write to support@gracelab.io from the address linked to your account or with the number concerned: we will handle the request and confirm to you when it is done.

4.What remains, and why

Some things do not disappear with your account, and it is more honest to say so plainly.

  • The messages you sent stay with their recipients: they received a copy, exactly like a delivered letter. To take a message back on the other person's side, use "Delete for everyone" before closing your account.
  • Messages sent in a group or a channel stay visible to its members, unless you delete them before you go.
  • Technical and security logs (sign-ins, failed attempts, moderation measures) are kept for the periods given in the privacy policy, then erased.
  • Material linked to a report, an investigation or a legal obligation is kept for as long as necessary, including after the account is closed, then erased.

5.If you no longer have access to the app

Phone lost, app uninstalled, number changed: write to support@gracelab.io with the account's phone number and, if you have it, the email address attached to it.

We must make sure the request comes from the account holder before erasing anything: we may therefore send a verification code to the number or address on file. We never ask for photos of your documents by message, nor for your password.

6.Erasing without closing the account

You do not have to leave everything in order to erase something.

  • A conversation: "Clear chat" erases its content on your side, "Delete for everyone" takes a message back from everyone within the time allowed.
  • A status update: it disappears on its own after twenty-four hours, and you can delete it sooner.
  • What the assistant learned about you: Settings, "Answer for me", then "Forget it" for the writing profile and "Erase everything it remembers" for the conversation memories.
  • A device: Settings, "My devices", then sign out of the session you choose.

7.Getting a copy of your data

Before you go, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you by writing to support@gracelab.io. We reply within one month, in a readable format, once we have checked that it really is your account.

These documents are written and checked in French and in English. The French version is the reference for readers in French-speaking countries; the English version applies everywhere else. Whatever language HelloMe is displayed in, only these two versions are binding.
