HelloMe is there for talking to your family, your customers, your neighbourhood or your team. These rules exist so that this stays possible: they say what has no place on the service and what we do when the line is crossed.
They apply to everything that goes through HelloMe: messages, voice notes, photos, videos, documents, calls, status updates, groups, channels, communities, names, profile pictures and descriptions.
1.What is strictly forbidden
Some conduct leads to immediate account closure, without prior warning, and to a report to the authorities where the law requires it.
- Child sexual abuse material, in any form whatsoever, including drawings, edited images and artificially generated content, as well as any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes.
- Threats of death or violence, calls to murder, glorification or organisation of terrorism.
- Incitement to hatred or violence against people because of their origin, their ethnicity, their nationality, their religion, their disability, their sex, their sexual orientation or their gender identity.
- Sharing intimate images without the consent of the people concerned, blackmail over their release, harassment and cyberharassment.
- Selling forbidden goods: weapons, drugs, protected species, forged identity documents, stolen payment methods, personal data obtained illegally.
- Scams: fake lotteries, fake investments, fake job offers, impersonating a financial service, a public body or a well-known person, and any scheme designed to obtain money or codes by deception.
- Spreading malware, phishing, fraudulent links or tools used to break into someone else's account.
2.Bulk messages and cold outreach
Writing to a lot of people is not forbidden in itself: a business, a school or an association has good reason to do so. What is forbidden is writing to people who did not ask for it.
- Do not add anyone to a group, a channel or a community without their agreement, and always leave them the option to go.
- Do not import lists of numbers bought or collected elsewhere in order to canvass them.
- Do not send the same message to a string of strangers, and do not use several accounts to get around a limit.
- Respect a refusal: when someone asks not to be contacted again, stop immediately.
Technical limits apply to sending, to creating groups and to invitations. Getting around them — through automation, through multiple accounts or otherwise — is a breach of these rules.
3.Identity and honesty
You can use the name you are known by, but you cannot pass yourself off as someone else: another person, a company, a bank, a public body, a news outlet or the HelloMe team.
It is also forbidden to make it look as though a message, a photo or a recording comes from a person who did not say or do it, including with tools that generate images, voices or videos.
4.Respect for others
- Do not share another person's personal data — number, address, documents, private photos — without their agreement.
- Do not republish a privately received message out of its context where that can harm the person who wrote it.
- Do not record a call without telling the participants, and follow your country's law on this point.
- Do not target a person repeatedly, including through accounts or groups created for that purpose.
5.Protecting minors
Children's safety comes before everything else. Child sexual abuse material is deleted, the accounts are closed, and the material is preserved and then passed to the competent authorities under the conditions set by law.
If you believe a child is in danger, report it immediately from the app and, if the situation calls for it, alert the police or the child protection services in your country. You can also write to us at support@gracelab.io.
6.Use of the assistance features
The assistant is there to help you write faster and catch up on a conversation, not to deceive. Do not use automatic replies to suggest a permanent presence in a setting where that misleads people, for example a customer service that would let people think a person is following the conversation.
Do not use these features to produce content forbidden by these rules, to get around moderation, or to generate bulk messages.
7.Reporting content or an account
In a conversation, a group or a channel, open the menu and choose "Report". You can also block a contact: they will no longer be able to write to you or call you, and they will no longer see your status updates, your photo or whether you are online.
For serious content or a removal request based on the law, write to support@gracelab.io with the link or the number concerned, the date, and what you are asking for. Give us enough detail that we can find the content.
8.What happens after a report
Every report is reviewed by our moderation team, who may look at the reported material and at the context needed to decide. Depending on how serious it is, we may issue a warning, remove content, restrict a feature, suspend the account or close it permanently.
The heaviest decisions are taken by a person, not by an automated system alone. If you believe a measure against you is unjustified, you can ask for it to be reviewed by writing to support@gracelab.io; give your number and the date of the measure.
A report that is deliberately false, repeated or intended to cause harm is itself a breach of these rules.
These documents are written and checked in French and in English. The French version is the reference for readers in French-speaking countries; the English version applies everywhere else. Whatever language HelloMe is displayed in, only these two versions are binding.
